The Company

Cairns Dive Centre (CDC) is an International 5 star training facility and has been in operation in its current state for over 10 years. The team at Cairns Dive Centre can help you with any aspect of your diving. At CDC, the emphasis is on increased training in actual dive conditions.

Cairns Dive Centre visit Moore, Milln, Briggs, Elford and Thetford Reefs. You will be transferred out to the M.V. Kangaroo Explorer on their fast boat MV SunKist. This takes around 90 minutes to the Outer Reef, followed by a short transfer to the Kangaroo Explorer for the remainder of the trip.

The Diving / snorkeling

Snorkel the amazing Outer Great Barrier Reef! See spectacular coral gardens teeming with a vast array of marine life. Join in the fun aboard the MV Kangaroo Explorer or laze on the spacious sun deck. Enjoy the sumptuous meals prepared by our experienced chefs. At night sit back and relax in the Lounge Bar or stroll on deck to see the amazing night sky.

This is diving at it's best! Using state of the art diving equipment, explore some of the best dive sites on the Outer Great Barrier Reef. You will see a vast array of hard and soft corals, great drop-offs, exciting walls and swim-throughs. Experience the unbelievable thrill of Night Diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Sumptuous meals are prepared by our experienced chefs.

Spend the evening relaxing in the Lounge Bar or out on deck to see the brilliant night sky.

The Vessel (Kangaroo Explorer)

The M.V. Kangaroo Explorer is a modern 25 metre catamaran specifically designed for Queensland coastal cruising. Each of our 16 cabins (twin, double and 4-berth) is fully air-conditioned, carpeted, has its own en-suite facilities and port hole or window. On the main deck there is a spacious saloon served by a top class galley and a well stocked bar. The top deck offers an enclosed air-conditioned sun lounge as well as an open and shaded sundeck. There is a library situated in the sun lounge for your convenience. The Kangaroo Explorer is equipped with a spacious dive deck providing easy access to and from the water.

This is a unique opportunity to cruise and dive through one of the world's great natural wonders in style and comfort. Start the day with a leisurely breakfast then relax on the sundeck between dives and let the world drift slowly by enjoying the remoteness of you location. As dusk settles, get ready for a possible night dive. Our chef will tantalise your taste buds with excellent meals freshly prepared on the boat. Most dietary requirements are catered for.
